Ten new recruits for MédiaSahel

MediaSahelIn November 2019, four female and six male trainers - journalists from Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso - received training on instructional design and on how to lead training on the fundamentals of journalism and interactivity.
Work carried out on fact-checking and the relationship between women and conflict completed these modules. At the end of these three weeks of training, they joined the 'pool' of trainers already set up and are now ready to conduct the various training sessions planned for MédiaSahel's partner radio stations, in the languages spoken in the project's target areas.

According to their trainer, Sophie Ekoué, the results are quite satisfactory. The system put in place and the content of the modules were appreciated. Many of these journalists had already been trained as trainers, but without ever " touching on these concepts and understanding the importance of the educational approach when speaking to adult journalists, male or female".

Journalism that is sensitive to gender and conflict will be the theme of the next training session of this type, which is scheduled to start in April 2020.
“I didn't expect to learn so much. I realised that I didn't know the different steps to follow to write a good 'paper' and that I knew nothing about instructional design... I'd like to really thank CFI and its partners."
