Kalan Academy call for applications: advanced management of local African media outlets

Are you a journalist or technician at a community radio station in French-speaking Africa? Do you have at least ten years of experience and would you like to improve your management skills? Then apply and receive comprehensive online training and personal guidance.

The purpose of the Kalan Academy project is to create and run a media management e-learning platform. This project is the first phase of a wider and more ambitious project. This concerns the launch, by the Centre Solidarité et Initiatives pour le Développement (CSID-Benin) [Development Initiatives and Solidarity Centre], of a learning platform that focuses on media management in Africa and which aims to effectively expedite the professionalisation of workers at media outlets in Africa.

The aim of this project is to create and run an e-learning platform for media management training. Journalists and technicians selected from various countries who have what it takes to become community radio station managers will follow a seven-module online training course in media management on the platform.

The group will include at least 15 potential managers who will receive a certificate upon completion of training that lasts 7 to 8 months.

This call for applications is funded entirely by CFI and will not result in any costs for the selected applicants.
