Supporting journalists to develop magazines in Togo

In 2021, support provided to media outlets in Togo focused primarily on the audio-visual, specifically magazines.

From 21 to 26 June, a training session on community management and social engagement run by Sahadou Ali Zato (expert in local media management) enabled ten media outlet directors to adopt a very operational approach with action plans. This training session was primarily aimed at local radio stations to enable them to further cement their position among their audiences, through, for example, the creation of a listeners’ club, the relocation of one station to another village or even a 10-year anniversary party for another outlet.

A second workshop, from 5 to 18 July, focused on designing and creating a magazine. It gave three experts the skills to supervise journalists in the creation of a magazine in under 15 days and to distribute it.
