The Safir network expands with the arrival of new members

After a selection phase completed in October 2020, 7 incubators and 21 civil society organisations joined the project.

Ambitious programme supporting youth and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 9 countries across Northern Africa and the Middle East, the Safir project, supported by European Union, is carried out by a consortium of partners including the Institut Français (leader), the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie and CFI, who will provide more specific support to projects in the media sector.

The selected incubators will take part in sessions to share their support methodologies, before supporting, in turn, the young project leaders benefiting from Safir. They will also benefit from regional networking at dedicated events.

The 21 selected civil society organisations will participate in sessions to share their advocacy methodologies, before supporting, in turn, the young project leaders benefiting from Safir, so that they can make their demands with a view to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These structures will also benefit from regional networking at dedicated events, which will make it easier to share good advocacy practices.

A second call for applications from higher education institutions was launched at the end of 2020. The list of selected universities will be released shortly.
