Investigations in the field of health in Egypt, Iraq, Palestine and Tunisia

CFI is publishing the French translations of all the investigations produced by journalists benefiting from the MediaLab Investigation project..

Investigative journalists in the Arab world face many challenges including a lack of time and financial resources, isolation, physical threats and legal proceedings brought against them. To respond to these challenges, CFI launched MediaLab Investigation back in September 2019. Over the course of two years, this project has supported investigative journalists from nine countries in the Arab world to specialise in the field of health, through networking and support for the production of investigations.

More specifically, CFI has chosen to provide support for investigations relating to health. Indeed, a study has revealed that the challenges in this field deserve better journalism coverage in the Maghreb and Mashriq countries.

This booklet contains the French translations of all six of the investigations produced by the beneficiary journalists. These journalists from Egypt, Iraq, Palestine and Tunisia received personalised assistance to produce their investigations in the field of health, which included training sessions and financial support – all against the backdrop of a challenging healthcare environment brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
