France Médias Monde and CFI taking part in the Diplomacy Factory on 5 and 6 September 2025

France Médias Monde and its subsidiary CFI, the French media development agency, are participating in the Diplomacy Factory on 5 and 6 September at the Sorbonne Nouvelle – Nation campus, in Paris.

International journalism, combating disinformation and developing independent media

Organised by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and the Sorbonne Nouvelle University, this public event aims to explore the major challenges for France's international actions.
On this occasion, France Médias Monde and CFI will be inviting the audience to a series of screenings, workshops, meetings, and a panel discussion on the importance of professional and independent field journalism, which combats information manipulation and fake news on a global scale. A meeting hub is also planned to allow young people to interact with the group's journalists about their profession and to better understand French initiatives in support of media development across the world.

Through its media outlets RFI, France 24 and Monte Carlo Doualiya, as well as its pure-player offerings ENTR, and InfoMigrants, the France Médias Monde group provides information to 254 million people each week via radio, television, and digital platforms, in 21 languages. The group has more than 125 million subscribers on social media and recorded nearly 4 billion video views online last year.
Journalists from the group and its network of correspondents provide listeners, viewers and internet users with independent, on-the-ground information that is open to the world and to the diversity of cultures and viewpoints, through news bulletins, reports, magazines and debates. Its employees represent more than 60 nationalities.

CFI, the subsidiary of the group working on the development of media worldwide in connection with civil societies, is contributing to the fight for freedom of expression, press freedom, independence and media pluralism, which are pillars of democracy. Through its initiatives, it carries the voice of journalists from all four corners of the globe and, in France, through its program Voices in Exile
CFI also actively contributes, particularly through its training programmes, to engagement in the fight against disinformation, which constitutes one of the major challenges of our time.
