Call for entries: Qarib Journalism Awards

Are you a journalist from Iraq, Palestine, Jordan or Lebanon? Submit your entry to the Qarib Journalism Awards!

In this competition, awards will be presented in the following five categories:

• Best coverage of security and politics by female journalists
• Best business and economy reporting by female journalists
• Best reporting on climate change and the environment
• Best coverage of minorities
• Special Prize: Best reporting concept and travel stipend for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28), which will take place in Dubai in December 2023.

This competition is open to journalists from Iraq, Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon. The first two categories are open to female journalists only, while the remaining categories are open to everyone. The first four categories apply to articles published between 1 November 2022 and 1 August 2023, while the Special Prize aims to recognise the best proposal on how to cover COP 28 in Dubai in December 2023 and will finance its implementation.

Three winners will be chosen in each category.
The 15 winners will receive their awards on 12 October 2023 at the Qarib regional conference.
