Indonesia - Support for media outlets and journalists affected by the tsunami

The tsunami caused major damage to many Indonesian media outlets, particularly in Palu where, two months later, the media was still unable to operate normally.

CFI provided support via its Indonesian partner, the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI), which took the form of equipment for some ten journalists from various media organisations and two local media outlets (Beritapalu.com and Sultengterkini.com). These media outlets were able to produce content reporting on the recovery of the region.

In addition, this support enabled the AJI to organise a meeting to assess the impact of the disaster on media outlets and journalists in Palu, in partnership with: independen.id, the platform created by the AJI in conjunction with CFI as part of the 4M Asia project.
