Media for One healthThe Media for One health project officially ended in December 2025. At the end of the 30-month project, CFI strengthened the skills of 18 media outlets in South-east Asia (Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and the Philippines) to better produce and disseminate information about the One Health approach..
Between August and December 2025, Prospective & Coopération was responsible for carrying out the final evaluation of the Media for One health project, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
The project was deemed relevant and effective in strengthening the role of the media in disseminating reliable information on the One Health approach, linking global issues and local realities.
Despite the complex context, they describe how the project was able to achieve most of its objectives thanks to high-quality support for journalists, and strong partnerships with research centres, universities, authorities and international organisations working on the One Health approach.
In terms of concrete impacts, CFI has trained 55 journalists who have adopted more rigorous professional practices, based on cross-checking scientific sources and taking a cross-cutting approach to issues concerning human, animal, and environmental health.
Among other results, the 18 media outlets supported by CFI have increased the number and quality of One Health content published on their pages. As a result, the audiences of the media outlets we support have been made more aware of global health issues and the prevention of infectious diseases.
On a broader level, the media supported have also permanently strengthened their links with local researchers and public authorities. The project has therefore helped to strengthen the dialogue between science and society, increase the legitimacy of journalists in their newsrooms and put the One Health approach firmly on the national media and institutional agendas.
