CFI at the One Health Summit: the media and health misinformation

Media for One healthFrom 5 to 7 April, France will host the One Health Summit in Lyon, an inclusive, unifying summit aimed at speeding up the implementation of the “One Health” approach. The One Health Festival, which will accompany it from 16 March to 15 May 2026, will bring together events in France and around the world that have been selected following a call for proposals.
Within this framework, CFI, the French media development agency, which is particularly committed to pushing back on misinformation regarding health and the environment, will organise a round-table discussion of scientists and media and civil society stakeholders to address a strategic issue: how does misinformation threaten the One Health approach, and what can the media do? This event has been labelled the “One Health Summit Festival” by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
As heads of state, international organisations and experts gather on 7 April, one question remains: how can the political commitments made by heads of state reach the people and have tangible effects when misinformation is undermining trust in science and exacerbating health and environmental crises?
The panellists at this round table will discuss the mechanisms underlying misinformation – narratives, stakeholders, dissemination methods and strategies to undermine credibility – and their negative impacts on the “One Health” approach. This discussion will also provide an opportunity to explore practical solutions through case studies drawn, in particular, from the projects implemented by CFI in South-East Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, such as Media for One health, the positive effects of which have been verified and evaluated in the field.
The discussion will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience, and then a chance for the panellists and the audience to meet over a buffet lunch.
The event forms part of the Fabrique OSH programme at the CIRC in Lyon.
Organised by the One Sustainable Health for All Foundation, the Fabrique OSH is a collaborative, inclusive and inspiring space in which to promote and jointly develop innovative, multi-stakeholder, interdisciplinary projects based on the One Sustainable Health (OSH) approach.
