MediaLab CampusAs part of the Medialab Campus initiative, a project aimed at enhancing and expanding the provision of journalism education on both sides of the Mediterranean, CFI is offering 5 internship grants to journalism students (both male and female) wishing to undertake an internship abroad in 2020.
Eligibility
- You must be a student (male or female) in a journalism school in one of the following countries: Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq or any European Union member state.
- You must have secured an internship in a media organisation in one of the following countries (excluding your country of study): Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq or any European Union member state.
Application material to be provided
- Letter of commitment from the media outlet and internship dates
- Letter of notification from the journalism school
- Letter of motivation
- Examples of work
- Reference letter from a teacher or mentor
- CV
The grant will cover the following
Travel, living and accommodation expenses for a period of four to six weeks.
Following examination of the various materials provided by students with a view to assessing the strength of their application, CFI will rank applicants on the basis of the items provided.
CFI's aim will be to allocate two thirds of the internship grants to women as part of its “gender" strategy.
Insofar as possible, grants will be allocated equally between students from European journalism schools and students from schools based in the southern Mediterranean.
Undertaking
Students must submit a ten-page comprehensive internship report within fifteen days of completing their internship.
