Amplifying the voices of Ukrainian women

Yak VdomaOn 6 September, in collaboration with UNESCO, the Centre for Independent Journalism organised a multi-stakeholder discussion in Bucharest on the topic of using media to support Ukrainian female refugees.
The Centre for Independent Journalism is a key platform for debating the issues faced by Ukrainian refugees temporarily living in Romania.
Oksana Baldina, who is a beneficiary of the Yak Vdoma residence and works with the radio station, Hromadke, was one of the speakers invited to the event. Oksana promotes the voices of Ukrainian women fighting for survival and the future of Ukraine from all corners of the world. She discussed the difficult choice she made to go into exile to continue working as a journalist and explained where she draws the strength and motivation needed to continue being a voice that counts in the fight against Russian disinformation.
