Afri’Kibaaru 2
Goals
Presentation
Disasters linked to climate change regularly affect West and Central Africa. However, the national and local media give little coverage to these phenomena and their devastating impact on biodiversity and human activities, depriving people of key information regarding the impact of climate upheaval on their daily lives.
In order to fill this information gap, CFI, in partnership with France Médias Monde, is launching the Afri'kibaaru 2 project. The aim of the project is to raise awareness of sustainable development issues through the production of reliable, independent, high-quality information in local languages to promote understanding of environmental issues. The aim is to enable communities that are far removed from information sources to participate more actively in public debate and to strengthen their resilience to the effects of climate change.
Project beneficiaries
- Journalists, managers and technical staff from 20 public, private and community media outlets.
- Journalists from RFI's partner radio stations in the region.
- Civil society organisations involved locally in combating the effects of climate change.
