Ukrainian awards for Pravo-Justice trainees
At the end of 2020 three Ukrainian journalists trained during the Pravo-Justice program won awards at "Court in Understandable Language" national competition organized by the NGO Human Rights Vector and supported by international partners.
The article of Victoria Roshchina for Hromadske media “I swear to the court to tell the truth. How do witness protection mechanisms work in Ukraine?” won in the nomination "For drawing attention to a systemic problem".
Lviv-based reporter Natalya Lazarovych for Tvoe Misto media won the nomination "Best coverage of a topic related to prejudice" for her coverage of the court case related to a dramatic Roma camp attack in Lviv.
Hanna Sokolova, Kharkiv-based journalist of Graty media, who joined our program in the fall, won the nomination "For Multidimensional Judicial Coverage" for a series of 6 articles.
We warmly congratulate our colleagues and wish for them to keep on developing justice journalism in Ukraine, which will certainly contribute to public control, the establishment of the principles of the rule of law, human rights and democracy.
