Digital EastWatch the web documentary produced by the Lebanese media outlet L'Orient le jour as part of the Digital East project.
When the Rajoubs and the el-Mohammads fled war-torn Syria, they had no choice but to leave their whole lives behind - their family, their friends, their language, their jobs... their entire world.
After initially passing through Lebanon, the two families eventually managed to end up in the village of Naucelle in southern France.
It was in this tranquil setting that we began to follow them, back in September 2017.
This documentary shows us how Waël, Hilal, Mohammad, Awasha and their children have all made a fresh start to their lives. It also gives us a chance to meet the local residents in this small corner of Occitanie, known as the "Pays des cent vallées" (Land of A Hundred Valleys).
Entitled "Tout recommencer au Pays des cent vallées" (Starting all over again in the Land of A Hundred Valleys), thisweb documentary
is first and foremost a tale of solidarity.
