Echoes of Women’s Voices on Monte-Carlo Doualiya!

For 18 months, the Association Initiatives Citoyennes, with the support of CFI and FMAS, went to meet Moroccan women in the Marrakech-Safi region to make their voices heard.

With the help of a mobile studio broadcasting on Kech Radio, the team was able to reach rural communities to encourage hundreds of young women to participate in the public debate and in the collective search for solutions to the social, cultural and economic problems that hinder their equal rights.

On Friday March 12th, 2021 at 8:40 am (Paris time), Hanane Abdallah, journalist with MCD hosting the programme Café Chaud, will welcome Laila Jourane, coordinator of Kech Radio, who will talk about how this project has given a voice to marginalised rural women, addressing issues ranging from economic cooperatives’ creation to underage marriage. An innovative advocacy tool for the consolidation of a tolerant society, guaranteeing the rights and opportunities of everyone, without gender discrimination or stereotypes.
