The film "Kamikazi et l'arbre aux mille pouvoirs [Kamikazi and the tree with a thousand powers]" was selected to be screened during the closing ceremony of FICAM, the Festival International de Cinéma d'Animation de Meknès [Meknès International Festival of Animated Film] (Morocco).

The third animation workshop organised by CFI in Africa from 3 to 15 December 2012, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso was focused on the creation of an animated film and the theme of the African tale.
Seven African filmmakers (Burkina Faso, Burundi, Senegal, Togo, Guinea-Conakry and Cameroon) directed a joint work during the fifteen-day workshop.

This training was led by Joachim Hérissé, director of the series, Moko enfant du monde [Moko the young explorer]. Arnaud De Buchy, a composer, brought his expertise in sound design.
After two weeks of work, the film was shown on Saturday, 15 December 2012.
This animated film was rebroadcast on 77 partner channels of CFI.
The last training programmes in Madagascar and Burundi had already given rise to two animated films: Mandalo and La folie des esprits [The Madness of the Spirits].

The 12th edition of FICAM, was held in Meknes on Friday, 22nd to Wednesday, 27th March 2013.
On this occasion, the film Kamikazi et l'arbre aux mille pouvoirs [Kamikazi and the tree with a thousand powers] was selected to be screened at the closing ceremony.


Each year FICAM attracts some of the greatest professionals in animated film, such as Michel Ocelot, the director of Kirikou.

The screening of Kamikazi et l'arbre aux mille pouvoirs [Kamikazi and the tree with a thousand powers] was an opportunity for CFI to interact with African professionals in the animated film industry.
