Vietnam: VTV24 trains its digital editorial staff
CFI is continuing to provide support for the creation of the "all-news" channel VTV24 and has entrusted Gilles Bruno, founder of l'Observatoire des Médias, with the training of journalists on the web editorial staff in November 2015.
In a country where the internet has exploded in a matter of just a few years, particularly in terms of traffic on social networks (over 25 million Facebook users today), VTV24 has made its presence on the internet a priority. The Vietnamese have therefore developed interactive practices that the media must integrate.
This is what prompted the VTV24 team to acquire, as of now, the tools needed to implement its digital strategy, by training journalists in the rules of writing for the web and in producing specific content.
Gilles Bruno structured his intervention around four lines of approach:
- organising the web editorial staff and its convergence with the VTV24 editorial staff,
- writing for the web,
- devising specific content,
- and defining a strategy on social media.
Additional training sessions are planned for 2016 in order to enable the web team to optimise its skills and increase its production volume.
