A Syrian web-documentary wins an award at the “Sunny Side of the Doc” festival in La Rochelle

" On screen, off record ", a web-documentary project concerning the origins of the Syrian revolution, has just won the Cuban Hat award at the Sunny Side of the Doc festival in La Rochelle.

The Syrian director Rami Farah was accompanied in his project by CFI within the framework of their support programme for the Syrian media. In April 2013, a workshop was organised in Paris involving interventions by five experts from the fields of direction, production and web-development, who were able to advise the documentary team on the structuring of their project.

This workshop culminated in a presentation given to an assembled group of producers, broadcasters, journalists and professionals from the web-documentary world in France. This presentation succeeded in wooing the production agencies Honkytonk and PIW!, who decided on the spot to produce "On screen, off record ".

This week, the project was acclaimed by the public at the Sunny Side of the Doc festival and drew interest from broadcasters, who were able to meet both the author and producers during the festival.
