Kamikazi selected for FESTICAB 2014

The Burundi International Film and Audiovisual Festival, taking place from 13 to 20 June 2014 in Bujumbura, has chosen the African film Kamikazi et l'arbre aux mille pouvoirs [Kamikazi and the tree with a thousand powers] to compete in the international animated film category.

This animated film, which illustrates an African tale, was made in December 2012 during a two-week workshop organised by CFI in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso).
It is the result of the joint efforts of eight film-makers from Burkina Faso, Burundi, Senegal, Togo, Guinea-Conakry and Cameroon, led by Joachim Hérissé, director of the series Moko enfant du monde[Moko the young explorer] .
The composer Arnaud De Buchyalso provided his expertise in sound design.

Kamikazi has already been broadcast on CFI's 77 partner channels.

Around a hundred national and international films will be presented in the course of a week at the Burundi International Film and Audiovisual Festival ( FESTICAB), a cultural film event held every year.
