Jordan: CFI sponsors the 6th ARIJ Conference
The 6th annual Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) Conference was held in Amman from 6 to 8 December 2013, with 350 Arab journalists coming together to exchange their knowledge and opinions.
A number of leading media experts were invited to speak at this year's conference, which was centred around the theme of 'The Role of Arab Media in Transition', with actual cases of investigative journalism being presented and plenary meetings being held to discuss the state of journalism in Arab countries, investigative journalism in the digital age, and the independence of the media.
Edwy Plenel, the President and Founder of Mediapart, was invited by ARIJ and CFI to speak at a session focusing on the independence of the media.
