Emmanuelle Talon appointed Chair and CEO of the French media development agency, CFI
The CFI Board of Directors voted in favour of appointing Emmanuelle Talon as Chair and CEO of the French media development agency, CFI.
She will be taking over from Thierry Vallat, newly appointed as the French ambassador in Libya.

A career diplomat, Emmanuelle Talon first joined the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in 2015, after working as a journalist for eight years.
She graduated from the Paris School of Political Science and the Lille Higher School of Journalism. As an Arabist, she has also collaborated with CFI on several projects in the Middle East and North Africa.
Previously the Assisting Officer for Cooperation and Culture at the French embassy in Algiers, she has extensive experience with cooperation and development issues.
Upon taking up her duties on 2 September, Emmanuelle Talon will be meeting CFI’s key partners with a view to continuing the work already under way, focussing especially on reinforcing projects to push back against misinformation, which is a high priority for the agency.
