Local coordination for the implementation of the projet activities
Media Parity aims to encourage - through training and workshops in journalism, personal and professional development and harassment awareness - the development of quality gender-sensitive journalism offering women spaces for expression.
The project will provide media outlets with tools to increase the participation of women as sources of expertise and leadership in the media, in order to raise public awareness of gender equality issues.
Media Parity also aims to strengthen South-South cooperation on these issues through regional meetings to share experience and expertise and to enhance networking between journalists and the media outlets of the five partner countries. The project will select a total of twenty-two (22) media organisations (5 in Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia and 2 in Lesotho).
In each country, CFI will run personal and professional development workshops for journalists from the selected media, an 8 to 10-day workshop will bring together male & women journalists and an awareness-raising day will be organised in each of the media outlets selected for the project to raise the awareness of all staff about harassment and how to tackle it.
Logistics coordinators will be selected for each of the project countries and become part of the team delivering a series of workshops and activities implemented under the CFI/GL Media Parity Capacity Building Programme.
The services entrusted to the provider will include the identification of service providers (rooms, catering, translation and interpreting and other needed services) for the realization of each activity, the negotiation of preferential rates and the verification of the availability of supplies and technical tools, etc.
The coordinator will also be in charge of organising local transportation, if necessary, maintaining attendance lists, and ensure the reproduction and distribution of training materials. This specific call aims in selecting a logistic/event coordinator for activities in each country (Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia).
