On the path to developing a third National Action Plan (NAP) in Burkina Faso

A workshop on developing draft commitments for the creation of the third NAP for open government (OGP) was held in Ouagadougou on 20-24 September 2021.

This workshop took place at the Burkinabé Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Protection and followed up on the regional public consultations held in August 2021, which led members of the technical committee in charge of developing the third NAP to identify the requirements and concerns of citizens throughout Burkina Faso.
The NAP 3 project derived at the end of these 5 workshop days was shared with the Burkinabé people so that they could make their public comments.

It’s a pretty effective tool that will streamline budget and accountability work in the department.
Hamidou Sawadogo, Deputy Mayor of Léba.

Sticking to Burkina Faso, the AMR (Association Monde Rural [Rural World Association]) also organised an EDIC Mobil tool pre-validation workshop on 29/30 September 2021.

It is intended that this app will support the sharing of budget information with every municipality in the country.

The tool has been presented to stakeholders in the community and specialists from the forums for community dialogue and questions [EDIC] in order to gather their input before approval from the ssociation des municipalités du Burkina (AAMBF) and the MATD (Ministry of Territorial Administration) as well as other technical and financing partners.

The EDIC Mobil tool will reach more people than the traditional format which consisted of gathering people in a single location. It will produce data that will make it possible for people to be as well informed as the government and it will make it easier for them to make a contribution to society.
Laurent Rouamba, an accountant in Boussou.
