SafirLab 2016-2018Social innovation is at the heart of the 2016 event. Applicants' dossiers must be submitted by midnight on 15 June 2016.
Born in 2012 in the wake of protests against authoritarian regimes in the Arab world, SafirLab is mentoring young project leaders investing in the development of their societies and working to promote freedom of speech.
Education, digital media, women's rights, health - participants' projects stand out because of their capacity to transform communities in social terms.
Designed as a project "accelerator", SafirLab provides those involved with a set of tools (project-management workshops, funding research, volunteer mobilisation, etc.) and creates the conditions for sustainable dialogue with French civil society by organising tailored professional meetings.
With a number of Arab countries experiencing serious crises that make citizens' lives difficult, SafirLab's mission is clearly that of supporting initiatives that give hope for the future.
Since 2012, around one hundred projects have been promoted, in Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and Yemen.
Depuis 2012, une centaine de projets ont été incubés, provenant de l'Égypte, de la Jordanie, de la Libye, du Maroc, de la Tunisie et du Yémen.
The 2016 event will take place from 26 October to 6 November 2016
